Well, I can report it is like riding a bike. It did all come back to me and I loved the process. It wasn't all plain sailing though, it was ripped out several times. More often than not this was because I had the length wrong rather than the pattern, failure to read the pattern being the culprit.
I knitted the cardigan in acrylic, Paintbox yarn I ordered online from Love Knitting. I chose acrylic as my daughter had sensitive skin, no point in knitting her something that would make her itch. Also, I didn't want to tie up too much money in something that maybe wasn't going to be her pleasing. I am happy to report that the yarn was fine to knit with and actually feels quite soft overall. In fact I ordered a few more balls for secret knitting.
And as for the pleasing - she really likes it. That was the biggest relief of all. I have yet to get photos of her wearing it. The weather hasn't been right, or the hair, or my energy levels, but I can do that later.
This is one of my FAL first quarter of 2017. I will be linking in with this blog post before the link up finishes.
