Finish-Along, aka FAL as sung by The Bay City Rollers

FAL-a-la, FAL-a-la. Sounds like a song by the Bay City Rollers, but no, it is the 2nd quarter beginning of the Finish A Long, or FAL. This is my third year taking part. Its a sign up commitment, without any commitment, to finish up all those work in processes. Last week saw the finish of the 1st quarter. I had finished 1 out of my 4, the modern maples quilt, my maple leaf started in 1998 that everybody was sick looking at. We arrived home from the States on Thursday, the last day for the linkup. I was too knackered  jet lagged to blog, so linked up with instagram. Feels like cheating, if you do the sign up, do the write up.

Keeping it simple this time, like the last time. That's the key. So, I have 3, no 4 things I would like to finish before the end of June.

1 The Coin Quilt, or the Bring Brown Back From The Wilderness Quilt. This is for my father, who worked with hard sums. I only have about 6" of binding to sew down. Surely I will finish this?

2 Mrs Hot, Hot, Hot . A quilt made from 2014 Modern Irish Quilters Bee. I have done the basic outline quilting. I'm toying with the idea of adding some circle quilting but might just bind this. I wanted it finished last spring. It is for the summer lounger, so needs finished pronto.

3 Mr Cool. The companion quilt to Mrs Hot, Hot, Hot. The bee squares were divided between hot and cold colours. This is for my very own Mr Cool for his sun lounger. Two of the blocks are a little on the warm spectrum so need replaced, basted and quilted. I couldn't recline on my quilt without his finished too? Could I?

4 An extra, not really a finish a long but I have to do this. I am making an ombre quilt for a BIG wedding present for Dr P and Miss C. So a bit of time pressure here, but its months away.
