In my rush to start blogging, well, I thought about it for a year or so, then I went at it like a bull in a china shop. I thought at the time it was a good idea to have an "obvious" name, like "day dreaming about quilts".
I thought it would make me easy to find, should anyone that knew me (or didn't know me) want to read my blog. What I didn't realise was that it would really just mean I would be buried amongst hundreds if not thousands of other google entries about quilts and day dreaming.
When my patient daughter, Hazel explained about the whole google rating thing, I realised I was really at the bottom of the google pile. It's not that I really expect anyone to read this! I will be dead chuffed if anyone does, but I should at least have a fighting chance!
I was very vain last night and googled myself.....I know, the point of no return. The only way I could find myself was through a comment I had left on pinfiddlequiltsblogspot.co.uk. A rather convoluted way to find myself.
So, time for a name change before I go much further. And why "midget gem"?
Well, when I was young and first met my boyfriend, now husband, he used to say I was "his little midget gem", awwww. Now I am more of a big wine gum, the wine bit is probably appropriate as well, but it still gives me a warm glow when I remember him saying it.
